An enqueue is a wait for a resource held by another.
enq: TC - contention is seen during checkpoint operation. They can be seen during traditional hot backup operations or associated with parallel queries.
How to reduce this wait​
Check for a large amount of dirty buffers in the buffer cache, or for parallel query threads updating where PGA buffers are dirty.
